Bokeh, the new studio from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, has revealed its first game, entitled Slitterhead. Shown off at The Game Awards , we got a look at a truly upsetting trailer set in an unspecified Asian location, where various people's heads -- and then their whole bodies -- get real messed up as they transform into loathesome creatures.
You appear to play as someone fighting these skeletal, messed up monsters, though it's hard to tell at this early stage exactly what the plot is beyond "everything is pretty messed up and trying to kill you.
He went on to announce that the studio's first project would be a horror action-adventure and showed off some suitably grotesque concept art. Toyama will serve as the game's creative director, while Akira Yamaoka will be doing the music. But that's been canned, at least for now. The other suspect listing was for project 'Black', described as having an "unconventional blend of the Middle Ages and alien species," a concept that could feasibly have resulted, according to the grant document, in "spin-offs set in other historical periods.
But don't expect that game any time soon, if at all. The "Silent Hill" community, ever desperate to hear about a new title in the horror series, immediately convinced themselves that the game is a "Silent Hill" title. The list of conspiracy theories, including the one claiming that Blu Box is a fake studio run by Hideo Kojima, are all on Reddit. The official trailer of "Abandoned" is available below. We have no relations with Konami. We do not have any relations with Hideo Kojima.
It was never our intention to tease the name as Silent Hill. We sincerely apologize for this. Neither statement did much to slow down speculation, as fans had one more shred of evidence to cling to.
