Security for IIS 5. Sign in to vote. User posted At work we have a domain Windows Enterprise , we have a server that hosts our website Windows Enterprise IIS 6 that is on our domain. Remember, Digest authentication works only if the domain server for which a request is made has a plain text copy of the requesting user's password. This is a security risk in itself, because now that all domain controllers have plain text copies of passwords, they need to be secured from a variety of both physical and network attacks.

How is that possible on a virtual server, the host server has the correct time to the best of my knowledge, and wouldn't the other servers on the host have issues as well?
